The Company of Blue
I've never seen someone have to work so hard, juggle so much pain,...and smile so much. Never able to speak, or walk, or hold a pen, Blue spoke volumes to many and ran the distance!
He shook our world with his faith, perseverance and winsome smile. He is the definition of true grit.
Blue passed in July of 2023, just shy of his 18th birthday. As our family embarked on a grief journey, I have desperately missed his touch, the feel of his hand. I've always been a maker, loving to create in just about every medium, and when I couldn't find the fingerprint jewelry that I wanted to buy, I decided to make my own. I spent 100's of hours trying to transfer his fingerprint by various means and materials. I'll never forget the first time I felt a rock come out of the engraving equipment - feeling that warm impression of my son's fingerprint! I was hooked, and also drawn in to silversmithing.
I'm not the kind of gal to take off jewelry, ever. If I buy something, I expect it to workout, sleep, shower, and work with me. I have no interest in designing things that can't be worn, so I create things to last and stress test my pieces to go the extra mile. I'm dedicated to creating durable art that you can hold close to for a very long time. I have invested in a full studio and with all of the right tools to be sure that these precious mementos can endure.
